When I think about the biggest names in slots, a few titles have turned into full-blown franchises. Candy is one of those themes that never really leaves the lobby.
Now Pragmatic Play is giving one of its best-known brands a fresh coat of sugar. Meet the Sweet Bonanza POP slot.
It’s part of the provider’s POP series, and it takes a familiar favourite into a brighter, bolder look.
I like when a studio evolves something instead of just repeating it. Let’s unwrap this one.

Why Pragmatic Play Keeps Going Back to Candy
Candy themes work for a simple reason: they’re instantly readable. Bright colours, chunky symbols, no learning curve for the eye.
That’s a big deal in a market where players decide in seconds whether to stay on a game.
Sweet Bonanza is one of Pragmatic Play’s most recognisable names, so turning it into a POP release feels like a natural step. The studio keeps the sweet-shop personality and gives the presentation a refreshed visual style.
It’s brand building through gameplay, not just through a logo.
How the Sweet Bonanza POP Slot Plays
The game runs on a 3×5 grid with tumbling reels. There are no traditional paylines here. It’s a scatter-pays setup, so you win by matching 5-9+ symbols anywhere on the screen.
When a win lands, the winning symbols disappear and new ones drop in. That can chain into more wins on the same spin.
It’s a fast, tidy rhythm, and a format that has become a staple of modern slots.
Then there’s the multiplier twist. Multipliers that land are added together at the end of each tumble sequence, and the total is applied to the whole spin win. That’s a neat detail, because it makes the finish of a sequence the moment that really matters.
The Bonus Game: Where the POP Happens
This is where the Sweet Bonanza POP slot gets its personality.
Landing 3 or more lollipop scatters or POP symbols triggers the bonus game with 10 free spins. During the feature, landing 2-3 scatters adds 5-10 extra free spins.
The POP symbols add something I don’t see every day. Trigger the bonus with them and you get an instant prize:
- 1 POP symbol: 50x
- 2 POP symbols: 500x
- 3 POP symbols: 25,000x, which is the game’s max win
That top prize is a headline number, not an expectation. Treat it as the ceiling, not the plan.
Inside the bonus, Candy Bomb multipliers can reach 1,000x. Since multipliers are summed at the end of each tumble sequence, a few of them landing together is what the feature is built around.
What We Don’t Know Yet
Here’s the honest part. Some details haven’t been revealed yet.
The Sweet Bonanza POP RTP, the volatility rating, the release date and any bonus buy option aren’t confirmed in the information I have. So I won’t guess, and neither should you.
Once the official numbers are published, check them in the game’s info screen at your casino. RTP can also vary between operators, so look at the version you’re actually playing.
How I’d Approach It
There’s no trick to beating this game. Regulated slots run on certified RNGs tested by independent labs, so no pattern, timing or system changes the outcome.
What you can do is play smart:
- Start with the Sweet Bonanza POP demo if your casino offers one. Watch how the tumbles and multipliers behave before any real money is involved.
- Learn the bonus triggers. Know what 3+ scatters or POP symbols do, so nothing surprises you.
- Respect volatility. With a top prize this big and multipliers this large, expect swings. Dry spells can happen.
- Set a bankroll and a time limit first. Treat it as entertainment, and never chase losses.
Final Thoughts from Me
This Sweet Bonanza POP slot review comes down to one thing: it’s a familiar favourite wearing a brighter outfit.
The scatter-pays tumbles keep things moving. The summed multipliers and the instant POP prizes give the bonus real drama.
I’ll be waiting for the official RTP and volatility before I say more. Until then, try it in demo, learn how it breathes, and keep your play sweet and sensible.
